Eagle Owl (Bubo bubo):I live in Ballinspittle, Co.Cork, at about 10am this morning I think I saw an Eagle Owl sitting very close to the road, quite low down on a branch. He was quite a large bird, brown with bright yellow flecks around his face with bright yellow feathers lower on his body around the feet area. We have Hen Harriers here but I really don't think it was one, there wasn't any white visible and he was sitting more like an owl would plus his face looked quite flat and owl like.
I turned the car around to go back to look for him as I couldn't stop but he was gone.
